Great Team Effort
Crawley 3 vs East Grinstead 5
What a cracking day for a game of Rugby. Beautiful blue skies with wall to wall sunshine and a biting cold wind. The match was played in 4 quarters of 10 minutes and in the 1st quarter countless missed tackles led to two tries to East Grinstead. However, that’s the only negative that can be said about today’s match. The next three sessions were action packed and very entertaining to watch. The rucking from the forwards is really coming together with all of them supporting each other. The work these boys put in today was fantastic with specific comment from the coaches for Lewis and “Straight back” Jack. Craig “Butterfingers” Mansfield following his last 3 try performance with another 2 tries today. When he’s in full charge the opposition are finding him very difficuit to stop. Crawley’s 3rd try was scored by Thomas who was held up short of the line until these fantastic forwards arrived to aid this charge for the line. Thomas kicking was excellent especially when under pressure out of defence. New boy James, although still finding his feet with the game of Rugby, impressed with some fine tackles as did Harry Brand who was punching well above his weight s far as tackling goes. Kristian Dean and Mikey in the centre did some great ball carrying and Kristian put in some great hits too. All in all I think the try count became irrelevant of the boys as a team came to the fore. They worked together as a team and the ball was moved around between them better than I’ve yet seen. Well done to all of you.....
