Crawley 1st team traveled to Hove looking to keep up their great start to the season, unfortunately this was’nt going to be Crawley's day.
The game started well with a penalty slotted through after an infringement by the Yeoman. Shortly after the referee made a decision which had an impact on our game, our open side flanker was red carded after an alleged incident. This left Crawley with a mountain to climb and within a few minutes another Crawley player was given 10 minutes under the posts. The resolution of Crawley was evident with no further score by the Yeoman.
But with three further injuries the shape of Crawley's game changed dramatically and consistency of plays became more and more challenging.
All credit to the claret and blues for their never say die attitude and each wave of Hove’s attack came to be nullified with the timely tackling of B. Robson and K. Coulter who tackled every thing and anything not wearing a Crawley shirt.
All in all a hard days work and a tribute to our defence which left the Yeoman with only a 22-15 win.
